Habitat: Primary and secondary forest, shores and rocky cliffs

Description: This treelet is listed as critically endangered in Singapore, and is threatened by collection for the traditional herb trade. Familiar to many, the tap root of tongkat Ali is well-known for its aphrodisiac properties. Its bark has also been used as treatment for malaria, headaches and wounds.
